🏢 Local Lens: Business Spotlight

The Exchange Pizza Depot - Small but mighty. Their flavor is bigger than their shop!

The original EPD was housed in a very small building in Matthews NC, on the patio of Seaboard Brewery. The structure was built in 1954 as a telephone exchange, holding the dial up equipment for the phone company. This explains their name, and why their logo is a telephone with a pizza inside for the dial.

😁 Fun Fact… It was once called “Fullwood”
After “Stumptown,” the settlement took the name Fullwood (after postmaster John Miles Fullwood). But when the railroad arrived, the name changed to Matthews (honoring a railroad director).
